Covid 19 Advice
Last Thursday we received guidance from the chief dental officer of England instructing dentists to avoid where possible, aerosol generating procedures. This rules out for now many of the procedures normally provided including routine fillings and scaling.
We have also been recommended to cease routine dentistry where possible by the British Dental Association.
Accordingly, to reduce risks for our patients and staff, we will be reducing our open sessions to Monday and Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings for the near future. These sessions will be to provide urgent or emergency treatment. We will be contacting patients to cancel appointments for routine, non urgent treatment for now.
If you have an urgent dental problem first please ring reception on 0114 2882121. At times reception may be manned and at other times you will be able to leave a message. If you have a very urgent problem that can not wait until reception gets back to you please ring 07857205821.
Please note that if you or a member of your household is isolating because of the primary symptoms of a fever or a new persistant cough, you must not attend the surgery. You can ring for advice. If you are in need of urgent treatment you should ring NHS 111.
